About
An agent harness built on the premise that the model is the part you should be able to replace.
Agent tooling tends to be written against one vendor and adapted afterwards, which leaves that vendor's assumptions buried where nobody finds them later. OHarness inverts it: history is stored in a neutral format and rendered into a vendor's wire format only at the moment a request goes out. Switching provider mid-session needs no migration because there is nothing to migrate.
The npm packages are published under the MIT licence; the source repository is private for now and will be opened later, with no date set yet. The engine ships its own MCP client rather than pulling in an SDK for it, and resolves credentials per request through its own auth layer rather than delegating that to the wire layer — decisions made so the part you actually depend on stays small.
OHarness (oharness.ai) is an independent project and is not affiliated with other projects named OpenHarness or open-harness.
